Damian has dedicated his career to being a trusted counselor and an innovative and pragmatic leader, and he has a proven track record of strategic thinking, creative problem-solving and leading in times of crisis. He joined Vertex in 2015 and is responsible for leading the company’s enterprise risk management, global compliance (the Office of Business Integrity and Ethics), business continuity and resilience, privacy office, information governance, global litigation and global employment law functions.

He is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., and Suffolk University Law School in Boston. He has served on the boards and advisory committees of numerous nonprofit, civic, and for-profit organizations, including the New Commonwealth Racial Equity and Social Justice Fund, Fidelity Charity, HarborOne Bank, Trinity College, the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club of Boston and the Massachusetts Judicial Nominating Commission (by gubernatorial appointment).

In 2021, Boston magazine recognized Mr. Wilmot as one of Boston’s 100 most influential Bostonians. In 2020, the Boston Business Journal honored him on its annual “Power 50” list. He has also been recognized repeatedly as one of Boston’s most influential people of color in health care and life sciences, and in 2022, the Boston Bar Foundation awarded him its annual Public Service Award for his dedication to advancing inclusion, diversity and equity within Boston’s business community; his leadership across various nonprofit, civic and for-profit organizations; and his passion for bettering our communities.
