All In Together: Boomer Esiason Foundation’s Bike to Breathe West Coast Ride

On September 26, 2016, 150 Vertexians met Jerry Cahill and Emily Schaller at the finish line of their 600-mile Bike to Breathe ride, which ended at Vertex’s San Diego Facility.

Bike to Breathe is organized by the Boomer Esiason Foundation. Through this and other programs, Team Boomer encourages people with cystic fibrosis (CF) to incorporate exercise into their everyday lives, while raising awareness for CF and supporting the community.

Vertex sponsored this event, which featured CF advocates Jerry Cahill, the Boomer Esiason Foundation’s CF ambassador, and Emily Schaller as they biked 600 miles from San Francisco to San Diego. Along the way, the duo made stops in various cities to raise awareness for CF and emphasize the importance of exercising. At the finish line, Jerry and Emily were greeted by over 150 employees, and joined the Boomer Esiason Foundation, and Rock CF teams on a tour of our San Diego facilities.
