Network Innovator
“One of the key questions facing us in research and development is; how do we most effectively and efficiently leverage and boost our innovative capacity, increase our productivity and enhance our competitive advantage?”
“We think a bigger part of the answer lies in building Vertex-driven, global and interdisciplinary networks of innovation—hand-picking external frontier scientists, institutions and/or companies that we believe can leverage and augment our internal expertise, and collaborating with them in a fundamentally new way. We envision these as not just one-to-one technology alliances, but true networks, that can collectively tackle a complex problem that would be impossible for any one of us to achieve by ourselves. The goal is to create an environment that is fun, constantly challenges the status quo and thereby not only fosters innovation but also drives productivity as well as research and development economy.”
“In my role at Vertex, I am focused on applying the network concept across our drug discovery and development programs, with a goal of ensuring a steady stream of novel, highest-quality drug candidates with disease transforming potential that can carry forward Vertex into an exciting and sustainable future.”
