Each fall, Vertex employees around the world are encouraged to take part in a company-wide day of service to give back to local charities and organizations.
This year over 1,000 of our employees joined with more than 50 organizations to serve the community with a focus on helping neighbors in need. In the Boston area, we sorted and packed enough food at the Greater Boston Food Bank to feed a family of four for a year and a half, quadrupled the size of an organic garden at Holly Hill Farm that provides fresh produce to a local food pantry and assembled over 500 literacy packets that the United Way will distribute to community centers across our new South Boston neighborhood. In San Diego, our employees donated over 100 pairs of shoes to Soles4Souls, in Laval, Quebec our employees worked at a local food pantry sorting and delivering food, and colleagues from our DC office partnered with Martha’s Table to make sandwiches for homeless children.
Our employees also donated over 60 units of blood, shared their passion for science with elementary and high school students at a dozen different schools, removed invasive species and cleared trails at several different nature preserves and joined with Habitat for Humanity to help with the construction of houses in Dorchester, Massachusetts and in San Diego, California.
